Today was my first day (afternoon really) back at the office since two days before he was born. It was good to ease back into it. I checked out the ladies lounge where I can pump and caught up with my officemates and our group admin. I also managed about 20minutes of work (and I saw my undergraduate researcher). A few things struck me though since this is my first time doing things since I was pregnant:
- I don't need to use the elevator anymore! I caught myself hitting the button and realized there was no reason I needed to take the elevator anymore. (In fact, I figure I really should be taking the stairs at this point).
- I reclaimed my chair from my officemate. I think at about 8 months pregnant, my normally great office chair started to kill my back, so I switched chairs. I felt kind of bad reclaiming it so soon, but I had warned him!
- I can stand on the subway again! Good thing, since it was packed.
- I didn't have to remove layers of clothes on the subway because I was running an extra 10degrees warmer.
- I can run for the bus! (Which, I had to do). My lungs felt like they were going to burst, but I made the bus.
