Updates with Davis - he's developing so fast! Here's what he can do now at 3 weeks he wasn't able to do before:
- nap in the swing
- nap in the crib (if he's already very sleepy or completely asleep)
- hang out by himself in the crib or in his swing or in his bouncy seat observing the world
- calm much easier (now I sometimes simply have to walk him around to calm him down)
- nurse lying down (30minutes extra sleep for mom each nursing session)
- last night he only ate at 1:30 and 4:30 (of course he didn't go back to sleep after 4:30..)
- burp more easily (hence the easier to calm)
- we're still working on tummy time..for all the holding up of his neck he does while you hold him, he hasn't figured out on his tummy he can look up..but he can crawl if he has something to push against.
- follow the toys in his mobile
- last week we went to a breastfeeding group. Davis was pretty unhappy for most of it.
- yesterday we went to a drop in postpartum group. This went much better and we got to see our friends Leah and her son, Yasha (what a cutie!).
- this weekend we are thinking of trying a restaurant for brunch (there's a very family friendly one in Davis square).
- maybe..maybe, we'll go to a mommy and me yoga class on Friday. Hopefully, we'll also go visit Daddy at his office during lunch or at the end of the day.
- Visitations are picking up. Friends Josh, Courtney and Mack brought us homemade brunch on Sunday. We have friends stopping by tonight, tomorrow night, and Thursday at lunch time!
- I developed a breast infection that had me feeling pretty awful last Wednesday. I was feeling better by Saturday, but the red spot hadn't gone away, so now I'm on antibiotics to clear it up completely.
- I think the prenatal vitamin I was taking was partly responsible for Davis' upset tummy. He's doing much better now that I've stopped it.
- I've added cheese and yogurt back into my diet. Tomorrow..raw milk! After that, tomatoes..then finally strawberries and I'll be eating normally again (if it all goes well).
- I'm starting to look into home day care options this week. There are 11 of them within 0.5 mile walk of our house. Maybe one will work out!
Hey sis,
ReplyDeleteSo it has been so hard to email pictures of Eliason to Grandma and Grandpa Mendenhall that I have decided that I need a blogspot. So enter flyfish4pike.blogspot.com. (By the way, for the rest of you reading this, I am Kristen's brother "Bob" that lives in Moscow Idaho.)
Well I am glad to hear that Davis' tummy appears to be getting better. Hope that raw milk works out! It must not be very fun to be sleep deprived and favorite food deprived at the same time!
So this blogging thing is really new to me, and I will spend all summer on it, and it will still be difficult. Maybe after things settle down this fall, you or John might have a chance to show me a few hints.
Type at you latter!
love
Bob and Eliason
So you know that you won't have more than 10 minutes to yourself 'till Davis is about 12 years old, right?
ReplyDeleteI see that I get to follow my other grandson Eliason's adventures on line now too.
