Great Weekend

This weekend was a great one at the Naegle household.  We've gotten much more comfortable taking the babies the babies out so we headed out on some adventures.  On Saturday, we went to a farmer's market in St. Louis which was something of a bust (a little bit too busy for babies and toddlers) before heading to Tilles park for Davis to play on the great play structure there.   In the evening, Davis took Kristen to the Kirkwood Aquatic Center.  On Sunday, Kristen went for a bike ride while I took care of the kids, then I took Davis for a bike ride with "lots of animals".  After our bike ride we had popsicles and sprinkler time. In the evening, we went to the craft store for art supplies then back to the Aquatic Center with all three kids.

Alex and Evan pictures, weekend update

Here are a few pictures of the (not so) little guys from this weekend.  We had a nice weekend:

• We had family pictures taken in Forest Park (we have not got them yet)
• Went to the zoo.  Davis and Kristen spent a lot of time petting the sting rays, before we saw the open flight aviary and gorillas.
• Kristen went for a bike ride by herself
• I took Davis for a bike ride, followed by popsicles and sprinkler time
• We went out to dinner (this is a big deal with 3 kids)
• Had lots of good family time
• Continued to try solid food with Alex and Evan
• Kristen and Davis played soccer
• Kristen Davis and I sat out on the lawn and watched fireflies (before other bugs drove us inside)

We've also made reservations to go to Seattle after Christmas.  We head there on the 27th and have not yet booked tickets back.

Bike ride with Davis

Today, I took Davis for a "long" bike ride in the trailer.  We did 22 miles down Grants Trail and back.  This was the longest ride I've done with Davis in the trailer.  Towing 40 pounds of kid, 24 pound of stroller and 9 stuffed animals is hard work and I was totally gassed by the end of the ride.  Davis had a good time, a long nap and I got a lot of exercise.  We had a great time eating popsicles and running around in the sprinkler after the ride.

Swimming Lessons

Davis and I have been going to swimming lessons at the Kirkwood Y since about the start of the year and we've been taking him swimming since he was about 6 months old.  Today was Davis' first lesson without Mom or Dad in the pool.  He is taking a group swim lesson at the Y for 3-5 year olds and is one of two (of five) kids taking the class for the first time.  He did really great!  He listened and followed instructions really well and seemed to have a great time.  His favorite part seemed to be kicking in the water with the older kids.

I don't have any pictures from the lesson today, but here is one from November 2009 in his first swim class.  Little guy is growing up fast!

We're hoping we can start Alex and Evan in parent-child lessons in a month or so.

Adbentures in our Ban

It was a typical busy weekend at the Naegle household.  Saturday we went to a friends house in the ebening for Dabis to play with his buddy Luca.  They had great fun in a small pool and playing trains and trucks in the same space.  Sunday we went swimming at our neighbors house in the morning then spend most of the hot day inside before heading to Whittle's Train Shop (a hobby gone horribly wrong as they explain it) in the early ebening.  Today, we trecked to the Missouri Botanical Gardens in the morning then again spent most of the day inside, with a few bentures outside to play in the sprinkler.   I also got in a run with Dabis; Kristen made two solo shopping trips and we gabe Alex and Eban their first bites of "solid food".
