Davis Snippets

Davis is an awesome talking, observing stream of conscience machine.

Here are a couple of tidbits from the last two days:

Scene: Grandpa and Davis are sitting on the Couch.  Grandma shoes are sole down out of site.
Grandma (off stage): Grandpa, could you please get my shoes?
Grandpa: Which ones are they?
Davis: They have purple stars (without looking).
Grandma: (gets her shoes, turns them over and sees purple stars on the bottom of her shoes)

-----

Scene: Dad has taken out wooden snowman pieces from the freezer the previous night.  When opening the freezer, he finds more snowman pieces.  Davis has gone to bed.
Dad: What are these snowman pieces doing in here?
Grandma: I told Davis: "these don't belong in the freezer" and he replied "but they will melt!".
Dad: (closes the freezer and leaves the snowman in there)

-----

Scene: (putting Davis to bed)
Scene: (Davis, Grandma and Grandpa have gone to the zoo).  Davis performs stream of conscience retelling of his day, jumping in time and space between things he saw and did.
Mom: Thats a soft penguin you have.
Davis: There was a big penguin.  With a zipper in it.
Davis: (Makes arm motions for big and zipper)
Davis: But I didn't get that one. (he got a penguin with a baby)
Davis: And I don't like sharks. Sharks are scary; they have big teeth.
Davis: I don't want the boys to eat me.

Happy Birthday to Davis

Its hard for me to believe that three years ago this is where we were at:

And now we have a 37 pound 3 year old who tells amazing stories.

New Project

We are building a new sandbox for Davis for his bithday.  Today, Grandpa and I went to the hardware store where we picked up tools and lumber to get started.  Grandpa and I made a few cuts of the wood and laid out the box.  This will be topped with seats and placed in the back yard.   Davis really enjoyed digging up the bush in the back yard where the sandbox will go and helping with the scraps of wood.

Working on digging up that bush, 2x4 shows approximately where the sandbox will go

Roughed out.  I did not notice that he got the real hammer until a little later

Back to using his hammer (whew)

Easter Egg Hunt

Davis had a good time on our easter egg hunt this morning.  He does tend to open the egg and stuff all the candy in his mouth at once, but they are his eggs and that is what he wanted to do.

These two babies are definitely related

John recently sent me a picture and asked me to decide if it was Evan or Davis.  I guessed wrong, which made me feel pretty guilty.  So let's see if you can guess who is who in the pictures below

Mom's the sucker

Here's a conversation from tonight from a tired toddler:

Davis: I want to watch Bob Builder..
Dad: No Bob Builder, we played outside instead, and now it's time for a bath.
Davis: I want to watch Bob Builder!
Dad: No Bob Builder, time for a bath.
Davis: Mom, I want to watch Bob Builder please.
Dad: No Bob
Davis (interjecting): I'm not talking to you!! Mommy, can I watch bob builder please???
